ELS Event 2020 at ESTACA on February 6th !


Despite the strikes in public transport for Ile-de-France residents and the Coronavirus alert for people from Asia, which prevented many visitors from coming to join us, this ELS Event was still a success! After a welcome speech from Ludovic Busson, Director of ESTACA, the evening was presented by both Philippe Jaillette, ELS Chair and Amanda Vieira-Fernandes, former ELS student, currently working in the department Renault lighting Sébastien Saudrais presented the different Transversal Students projects, helped by Ana Maria Bejan! Then, Bertrand Barbedette presented the status of ESTACA / ELS Innovation on the theme "SMART LIGHTING FOR AUTONOMOUS CARS" accompanied by students [...]

ELS @ Institut d’Optique for the HACKATHON “Light for Urban Mobility”


This event in St Etienne and Bordeaux alternatively, was organized by David-Olivier Bouchez – manager of IOGS FIE i.e. Entrepreneurship track – Raphael Clerc, Nicolas Roesch – Design Researcher, Pierre Mauriac - and, of course, Sheherazade Azouigui, our ELS head of Research Department.   Hopefully, the students were convinced that Automotive Lighting is a real passionate matter! ELS Transverse Projects ! | Embedded lighting


Last Thursday December 9th, took place the Oral Defence of our ELS students’ Transverse Projects. Please find below a short summary of each one: Project 1: VIDEOPHOTOMETRIC BENCH PROJECT Accurate positioning of the cut-off line using methods specified by the regulation was presented by Changjin LEE, Juan LIBERT & Louis BEDORET. The aim of this project was to develop a method and an image processing algorithm for accurate positioning of the cut-off line of the low-beam light distribution, based on regulation requirements.
